'Chelsea at the front of the queue for Bournemouth's Scott'

Chelsea are at the front of the queue of clubs tracking Alex Scott, according to The Telegraph.

The Blues reportedly had a bid for the 23-year-old, worth in excess of 60m, rejected in the summer.

Scott - who is in his fourth season with Bournemouth - has a contract until the summer of 2028.

He made his first England start during Saturday's 7-0 win over Croatia, earning glowing praise from Thomas Tuchel.

First start and what a start, what a performance," he said.

"He is so smooth on the ball, his decision making is at the highest level.

He plays with so much confidence. He is so active, so confident. The work rate off the ball. He is just the complete package."

Barber: No fear in players - and staff - being picked up

Brighton CEO Paul Barber says he has "no fear" in the Seagulls' best players - and potentially management - being picked off by bigger clubs given their consistent record of succession planning at the Amex Stadium.

In an exclusive interview with Your Site News, Barber said: "If we do well, it's because our players and coaches are doing well. And if that happens, they're going to be on someone else's radar.

"We've been through that loop many times before, but that's our model. We don't fear it - we have succession plans in place on and off the field."

Markanday: Solo goal made me feel like that kid at Spurs

 Your Site News' Dev Trehan:

Dilan Markanday said his solo stunner for Chesterfield earlier this month made him feel like the fearless kid who was once arguably Tottenham's best academy prospect.

Markanday, who became when he featured in a European game under Nuno Espirito Santo five years ago, rounded off the scoring in style in a recent 2-0 win for the Spireites against York City.

"I think it was in the 96th, 97th minute, it was late in the game, and I still had the fuel and the energy to keep going" Markanday told Your Site News.

"My eyes lit up as soon as I got one-vs-one with the defender - that's the situation I want to be in. I managed to get past him, and took on another player and hit it into the bottom corner.

"I was absolutely ecstatic when it went in. I actually felt like that sort of little kid again back at Tottenham, you know taking on players - and that's what has allowed me to have the career I've had. I felt really good in that moment.

"I just want to keep continuing to score goals, different types of goals and just enjoy my football with that 'childlike kid in a playground' sort of feeling where there's no fear, there's nothing to prove to anyone, just going out there and enjoying your football."
